"Defend"? Interesting wording. I'm not sure there's anything that needs a defense here.

I read the book, I enjoyed it and found that it raised some interesting questions about Grant, and wanted to share a few thoughts on that book here.

I hoping you knew him... I PM with a few times at the old CWT... but he was upset with CWT to many pro-union voices...

I wish Phil would join here as "Harvey" or any other concoction, I have always enjoyed inter-acting with him, esp. when I found sources that beat back his assertions.

Agreed. Earlier in the thread I asked, "Do you have any proof of facts he got wrong, or something substantial, other than your obviously biased interpretations, & dislike of the author..?"

So far, I've only seen, biased interpretations, & dislike of the author.

Honest question: Would you read another book on Grant..? If so, would you want it to cover the exact same content, & repeat the same minutiae as those you've already read..? Or would you prefer a more unique approach, & a dive into questions, or content, that others haven't ...?

Considering the small size of the board, I hardly think there are enough posters here to make a "marketing effort" worth the time. No, it was a genuine attempt to contribute to discussion.

With predetermined positions, & biases. This thread is a good example. Y'all already had your minds made up about this book, the moment you read Anderson's first post. Nobody else here has read it but, it sucks in y'all's opinions. Even though nobody can point out, what the author got factually wrong. Any inquires about it, are nothing more than an attempt to discredit it. You wouldn't read it to get a fresh perspective. In the rare event you were to read it, it would be with the motivation to discredit it, & confirm your bias. Then again, based on some other threads, I'm convinced you'd have that opinion no matter what it said.

It's cool though man. It ain't personal. I don't come here for legitimate conversation, or discussion. I come to this forum for entertainment purposes, & to visit with my friend OBJ.

The contribution seemed centered around buy the book and read it. Our small forum appreciates the post count though.

Now I ask only one question that was not answered by anyone... I went to goggle books but no snippets found... I come for mindless fun and maybe learn something along the way...

Interestingly enough eBay has recorded no sales of the book.
