I have a conspiracy theory about this but... The United States started two wars over the 9/11 attack which took close to 3000 lives. We displaced 10s of thousands of people, killed 10s of thousands of people, caused two nations to become dysfunctional nations, and left two nations poorer. In one nation the bad guys we kicked out came back in power and the other nation still has an autocratic leader. The United States lost 3,000 people in the 9/11 attack but lost 7000 servicemen in the wars that followed along with 8,000 contractors, 30,000 servicemen suicides, and 177,000 Afghanistan servicemen.
The United States set the standard for what a nation can do when embarrassed by a terrorist attack... We gave Israel and the world the playbook...
