I am but a humble novice, o knowledgable one! However...doesn't the Vulcan image of their war god look like the Trek logo???

three dimensional, upside down (the little guy on it gives that away) and way too smmetrical

Oh, so it can't be the Vulcan war god, either! (We don't need to be finding any more war gods, that's for sure!)

I think she making a good point. Star Trek is a manifestation of the Vulcan war god but the logo is upside down.

One of the underlying themes in TOS was the violent past on Vulcan - don't do what we did! As it was, Spock had a small fire and altar on the subject in his quarters. But, you have the connection of two warrior cultures. One is trying to suppress it with heavy duty emotional control, the other is aware it's not right but still likes a good fight! Nothing made Kirk's day more than that, despite his protestations to the contrary. This theme is a sprout of the old western shows - the honor duels of the old South became the shoot-outs in the West. The infamous OK Corral fight was about honor. (Or, as the movie Tombstone put it - a reckoning. Of Biblical proportions, as it turned out....)
