No surprise. I didn't figure on getting a straight answer....
Interesting point. Is 'Black Confederate' a rhetorical 20th-21st-century politicaly correct term unrelated to the 19th century Civil War. Is modern presentism to be used to determine what a 'Black Confederate' is?

It was a very simple question. Is President Obama Black..?

That's a lot of dodging, & weaving in lieu of just answering a very simple question.

does it even matter?
Of course it does. It shows the hypocrisy, or double standards, of the Black Confederate deniers.

President Obama is commonly known as, & praised as, the first African American, or Black President of the United States.

Yet he is actually, by definition mulatto.

mulatto
[m(y)o͝oˈlädō]
NOUN
mulattoes (plural noun) · mulattos (plural noun)
1. a person of mixed white and black ancestry, especially a person with one white and one black parent

Pretty much everybody knows, President Obama's mother was White, & his father was Black.

Weird how nobody has a problem when he is referred to as Black, or as the first Black President. Yet somehow, a person of the same ancestry doesn't qualify as Black, if they were Confederate o_O

does anybody still use the mulatto definition? are you using a 19th century racist definition on a 21st century president?

Of course that would be your response. Rolling right past the point of the post, & ignoring the obvious. Projection at it's finest.

how?

i've heard the word mulatto in a historical context (a lot) - i never heard anybody (besides you, that is) call the 44th president of the us a mulatto. how can that be?

don't try 'he ain't black' on me - skin colour is as relevant as hair colour or height = irelevant.

... please explain to me why a 19th century racist definition is of any relevance to an enlightened modern man such as yourself.

thank you very much

Yes, by his own definition, but in addition I do not recall any Hawaiian black/native confederate militia. "Show me proof" like a birth-certificate. ;)

Not sure how much more clear I could be.

The POINT of my post isn't/wasn't the correct term for President Obama's ethnicity, or race. The point is/was the folks claiming that some Black Confederates were not "Black enough". There are posters on this board, & others, who claim a person who was of mixed race ancestry, specifically Black/White parents, aren't in fact Black. Yet, they have no problem calling Obama, Black.

Clarity is the epitome of understanding.

I have problems why this/Obama 'thing" is even being discussed.

If you can't see the double standard, not sure what more I can say.

I chose President Obama for my analogy as, he was the easiest known person of similar ancestry as some of the men discussed on this topic.

Just using the same rules as TeenCan uses.
OK, I have never made fun of, or disparaged someone's personal, or username on any BB, at any time, I do not expect it to be done to me!
Are we clear?
