I was told that having something like this depends on the demand so I was wondering who would want something like this.

For me,I'm a bit too old to trollop thru the woods even though I've been to many reenactments

I think it would be an interesting addition. While I, too, would find re-enacting a challenge, it's fun to talk to them and check out the stuff. We used to have a re-enactors group here for CW but they aged out. That's how I got a very, very good lithograph of Forrest! It would be nice to see younger folk take it up.

Not Enough electronics in reenactment to interest the younger folk.

I did my local battle in 2019 when I was 15, I love to reenact. We had quite a few youngins like me in my company. I also think it would be coolto have a forum for Buy, Sell, Trade Civil war authentic items or just showing off your collection.

That's a good thing - I've noticed not all young folks are enchanted with electronics - or are becoming disenchanted with them! I sometimes teach cultural classes downriver - the kids got accustomed to grinding the acorns to meal with a food processor. It broke...and they didn't know what to do. Hand me that rock over there. What? The rock...we'll get meal! (Watch for pieces of the rock when you eat the mush...:D)

You know I'v studied history for so long that it really shocks me how little many in my generation know. I had a friend over one time and he didn't know jack about the civil war so he sees my battle flag and when I ask him what is it he said " Uh the ruusiaan flaaag?".

Most of them fell asleep in history class.

In my generation it was the same.

Forrest has been leaning on his tree watching his men go by for a while now and only one person has known who he was...or even that it was a Confederate soldier. The person was a dear now departed buddy from Mississippi - walked in the door and exclaimed, "Well, I'll be! That right there is a picture of General Forrest!"

I figured I'd put this out there to see how much demand was here for a place to Buy, Sell, and trade gear, that's one of the things I miss most from "Over There". I may put a thread asking who's in favor of a forum for selling and trading authentic items.
