Here are where my ancestors were born each generation back. Keep in mind further back some lines dead end so the proportions are a bit less useful (I should probably add an Unknown entry to balance that out).

Please share some of your own ancestry origins info in whatever format you want (this was just a google spreadsheet with some simple pie charts)

the numbers of Your 4th and 5th GGP's is the reason unknown or do some of the ancestors show up several times?

Yeah, I don't include unknown. I have a version of that but by 5th great the biggest chunk is unknown so it skews the results.

Most likely the rare places like Germany are outsized by the time I get the my 5th great grandparents (my only non-colonial ancestry are Germans than immigrated in the late 1840s).

Great Grandparents: Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, 2 Maryland, 2 Massachusetts

GG Grandparents: Louisiana, Massachusetts, Switzerland, 2 Germany, 3 Virginia, 3 Maryland, 3 Missouri, 2 Oklahoma

GGG Grandparents: I don't have all of these figured out yet. Only 28 of 32. 9 Virginia, 5 Maryland, 4 Missouri, North Carolina, Kentucky, 2 Switzerland, 4 Germany, Ireland, St Domingo

These are lines I could pull quickly.

Those of my surname arrived in the 1760's in Philadelphia from what is now Germany. Then constantly moving west thru the Cumberland Gap--No Crap! sorry, an unavoidable Martin Mull reference :D-- into the Kentucky territory, then claimed by Virginia. Then "mixing" with those of Scots-Irish, English and others. Some of my line which still reside in Ol' Virginny deny that we are in any way related.

I am proudly, a mutt.

DNA indicates my paternal line is Irish, but I have yet to find specifics through my genealogy research.

My last name and my mother's maiden name are German, and I've traced the ancestry to their arrival in the 1700s. All branches of my tree go back to the 1700s in America- VA, MD, and PA with a small branch to 1600s Massachusetts. More Germans plus English, Scottish, and French Huguenots - per both research and DNA.

Muttts, are we not?

Our strength, as well as our curse towards possible and continued division. Even the British Royal "line" can not claim pure-breds anymore.

I have (at least) Poles, French, Germans, Austrians with "inlaws" & cousins also Chinese, 2 sorts of Latin Americans, Dutch
under Germans a Bavarsian GGF is hidden
In religion it is, katholic, lutherian (German deffinition), budist, uniert (= united lutherian and reformistic in Prussia) reformistic and jewish

might be a lot more since I'm only interested in genalogy for medical reasons (great deal of final strokes between 40 and 50)
all my family managed not to get shot in wars at least since 1870 (one shot himself)

Görman/ Möörs...now?

Zee Crown may topple. Boris has to be apoplectic, due to that "forced" immigration.
Boris should shut up, have a look at his grandparents and the fact that he is related to have of Europe

Nigel F by the way has a French family name and due to a former wife an additional German passport

Welcome to the so-called Mutt-club, also known as the human race. Are not, we all?

p.s. some of my distant relatives were/are snake-handlin' Baptists and their numbers diminish continually over time.

ünd thus, beware of your own mistakes herr moronanator, or the proper spelling "ruler" shall come down across your knuckles when ...you...

Perfection is only expected in a higher place, and I do not expect and I doubt that even the most devout will ever sit at the right hand...

My ancestry traces back to the British Isles, mainly Scotland and England. Clan Anderson was at one time the tenth largest Scottish clan. I don't know if that's still true or not. My ancestors probably came over here some time in the 1700s and settled in the North Carolina mountains, where my great-aunt and uncle still lived when I was born. Some of my earliest memories are of going to Christmas at their house.
