It's a whole lot easier to take Robert E Lee off his pedestal than it is to uproot an entire mountain. Unless you do it Crazy Horse's way. He was a sacred person and never wanted a likeness made - so, of course, to make up for that Mt Rushmore incident, a carving was set up on the next sacred mountain over to honor him. It cracked....
