"Jevons paradox strikes again!" Nadella wrote on social media, sharing the concept's Wikipedia page. "As AI gets more efficient and accessible, we will see its use skyrocket, turning it into a commodity we just can't get enough of."
In other words, don't worry, investors! This obscure economics concept shows a profitable path forward even though our competitors are drastically undercutting us. Look, here's Wikipedia and a story about 19th-century coal.
Jevons paradox may remain somewhat obscure, but over the last few decades, it has been cited as a reason why more energy-efficient cars, appliances and light bulbs may fail to reduce our consumption of fossil fuels. It has been cited as a reason why building more highway lanes fails to solve traffic congestion. And it's being cited by people in the AI realm — beyond just Nadella — as a potential reason why AI may actually create more jobs in some occupations rather than mass layoffs.

Well I do know Western WV electric is about 5 cents a killowatt hour coming out of Pocahontas County and across the river into Maryland with all the Data Centers, it's 50 cents a killowatt hour. People in the John Denver section of West Virginia are way to dumb to have data centers. I got this directly out of the Myers book on West Virginia. California wants our Mountain Pure Water from the Blue Ridge and Maryland wants our Electricity coming out of Pocahontas County. This brings me to Elizabeth Warren and Thomas Crooks and the Unger Station West Virginia people thinking they are related. Not that they don't know anyting about this. They take care of Ward Hill Lamon's gravesite. The Ungers are also in charge of the Rumsey Museum.

Crony capitalism has always been a thing but was kept in check until the last 40 years when fabulous wealth is being held in the hands of a few billionaires in common cause and a few major corporations in common cause too... We are going beyond crony capitalism to state capture... We are a plutocracy where the many serve the few... It's the common cause among the fabulous wealthy that is ending our nation and democracy... Lincoln did nothing beyond save our nation... Our more perfect union is in danger... I do not support your notion of states were ever true nation states and how can state that came after the first 13 ever be consider a nation state....
The individual 13 states had no political superior. That is a historical fact.
