You maybe right, it seem justice delayed is justice denied...
Reperations is a stupid idea. There just isn't enough money and non whites won't pay for it. The US government thanks to stupid wars and the CV19 bailouts is broke. We don't have the money and who's going to pay for it.
The voters have spoken and they are in no mood for paying for reperations or even social programs.
The rioting this summer created a backlash and not a good one for funding social programs .

As of this moment with 58 percent of the vote counted in Virginia Trump is ahead by over 500k votes per live elections.com. if a state that voted for Obama twice by good margins plus Hillary Clinton goes to Trump and this of course is after what happened in Charlottesville then something has changed. Maybe Biden will win Virginia but if course if he does it won't be by much but with Trump being comfortably reelected the nations mood for Reperations is not overwhelming.

Sadly, I think you right about the silent backlash over the BLM protest... WE are not broke not even close, yet and if we correct past misguided tax cuts that would fix much of it...

Our national deficit is in the trillions of dollars. Trump wants more tax cuts and he may very well may get them. We know the Dems will keep the house and maybe get the Senate put for sure they have to deal with President Trump for four very long years.
BLM did far more harm then good and there will be a backlash as cities get destroyed by criminals and the residents demand protection.

These things get so complicated. Here's a little sample in this local article. The Tule Lake Internment Camp is an historic landmark already but there was land to be added...which had a necessary airport to Tule Lake city...which was the homeland of the Modoc, who were removed to Oklahoma and want to come home...and a powerful, different tribe who wants the water rights...and farmers who need the water... Honest - these things, especially after several generations, get soooooo complicated. (Barbara Takei is Sulu's sister.)

Reperations for a good four years.
Lets give up on reparations for slavery and even Jim Crow BUT...

Unfortunately there are many black folks who just want some money.
The economic damage done to Black Americas in the 20th century ,could be address in tort laws with rumination for restitution and recompense for their injuries. A dollar value can be found...

1) we know who owned the land taken by whites through out the south and its value than and now...
2) we know which neighborhoods were red lined and who lived there over the years and can put a price on it
3) we know which houses and addresses and who live in them were bulldozed to make way for highways and attached a price to it
4) we know which Black soldier served in the military and we can put a price on how they were cheated out of the G I Bill...

The think a case for restitution and recompense can be made and won in a court of law...

All this talk about exactly who should get slave reparation and exactly who should pay for it. Why wouldn't reparations be applied with the same sort of wide brush that applied racism? If you're black or part black you get it. If you're white or mostly white you pay for it.

Of course I know that in itself would be racism, but what about life in the U.S. has ever been truly race-blind?

It can. But...what you get from it is not what you might justly have coming. And...it will probably be your great-grandchildren trying to collect. We've had one case in court for over 75 years. So, swift justice is not exactly a real thing!

Keep in mind were talking about a US Supreme Court that has six conservative Republicans. Not to say one can always predict how a justice will vote I.e. Chief Justice Roberts voted in on case to uphold Obamacare not to say Obamacare can't gutted more in the future. Still unless literally two Republican Justices die in the next four years ( assuming that the Democrats win the two Georgia Senate states which may or may not happen) any kind of reperations case is on very thin ground.

Not sure how many Democratic politicans will go along with that. Yes Trump lost by a lot of popular votes but in terms of electoral college votes Trump lost Pennsylvania, Wisconsin Arizona and Georgia by very thin margins although he won North Carolina by a thin margins. The Democrats lost many house seats how many we don't know but at least nine. The Democrats gained one net Senate seat and needed at least three. We will see how the two Georgia Senate races go. The Democrats lost many state legislative races so the Republicans will gerrymander more congressional districts. Gerymanding is legal per the US Supreme Court which is partisan Republican Court.
So now is not the time for Democratic politicans to piss off white people.

I think the one thing we're all missing is that, given the amount of money we're talking about, where would it come from? You want 21st century Americans to pay for 17th-19th century wrongs. Who's going to pay? It is certain that the rich will not. Money taken from the government will mean, by definition, other government programs will have less money to fund their services. So, the very people we're giving money to will be the ones putting up the money!

Logical, yet a bit self-serving. Is it so very unfair to burden the innocents of this age compared to the even more unfair treatment of the innocents of a past age? In other words -- schoolyard fair or not -- most U.S. citizens are comfortable enough to bear the additional burden as a portion of taxes. We seem to be able to bear the burden of paying for abortions or putting up a Southern wall just fine, after all.

And consider that the system that has for so long kept non-white descendants of the slave era at a disadvantage is the very same system that has provided more U.S. citizens an advantage.

Obviously you're obtuse. My point was not the burden of taxation, but that those receiving benefits will have those benefits reduced by removing funds from the federal budget. It's always the folks at the bottom of the food chain who lose - not those who "are comfortable enough."

The lowest classes in the U.S. are more comfortable than the majority of the third world. Anyway, the poorest here are not assessed taxes so would not be additionally burdened by slave compensation anyway, so let's be genuine about who's actually at the bottom of the food chain -- not most of us, and not the middle class.

I get it though; many of us expect to be able to purchase a bigger flat screen TV going forward.

What about all the wealth we stole or denied Black Americans? I am only talking about the 20th century injustices carried out a pond black Americans by white Americans... We just shrug our shoulders...

I have all the TVs I want. Deliberate obtuseness is even worse than the congenital kind. What you want is merely to poke the hive and see how the bees react. You have nothing to offer to the discussion so you play your infintile games. It's your way of covering up for your lack of knowledge. Your innapropriate use of words is a classic symptom of this inadequacy. Here are a couple words for you - affectatious sesquipedalianism.

Hornets have long and repeatable sesquipedalianisms and repeated "so-called" stingers. ;)

Trust me, a bee loses her stinger after one sting... I would prefer having to deal with a hive of bees or wasps than hornets.

And this one seems to be high in the tree, so why shake it?.
