Speaking of, when I get to it I'll post that thread. Where would be the most appropriate place ?

...there are other examples of bonds like this...
Thousands of examples. As we know "bondsman" is simply an alternate word for "slave."

There is just no making right what the Secession South and Confederacy was still doing to African-Americans decades after that scale of ill-treatment had been abandoned in all other sections of the Country.* There is no equating it. There just isn't enough honorable legacy left over to compensate for that.

* As we've matured as a society we've owned up to slavery in the Colonies, slavery as practiced by several of the Founders, and to the Black laws in several of the "free" states. We certainly can own up to slavery in the Secession South and the Confederacy. Our personal reputations are not at risk for what our ancestors did. There are no Confederates alive today. Being Confederate is not a real thing -- no one is giving up their U.S. Citizenship as would be necessary to call oneself a Confederate.

We honor our Southern heroes, white and otherwise, soldiers and otherwise, for prevailing the four short miserable years of the CW, not for that lame-brained power-grab of a minority slaveocracy known as the Confederacy.

Your being a real smart a**. Honestly I don't like to cuss and note I put the dots there but seriously man.
The censor software takes care of most of that. I also will change it so that things like 'stupid' gets changed to 'youre the smartest'.

Thanks I'll check it out, so this would be appropriate in the non military history forum. It's seams military related to me but your the webmaster so if its good then may I go ahead and post it there in the non military like you mentioned ?
Black Confederates is more political, modern political, than about battles. So it goes there.

May I suggest that any thread started about black confederates be required to be accompanied by verifiable primary sources. Blog quotes and articles and other secondary sources should be disallowed. If there were any black confederates, primary sources should be available to prove it.

Just my two bits - I think the invitation to a debate is an excellent idea! That requires a debate moderator and will keep the discussion on track, so it doesn't devolve into oh yeah? n yer another! (Because it will...)
