First stop for Meriwether Lewis was a visit to Dr Felix Brunot at Brunot Island who would write letters to Cardinal John McCloskey all the time. Up on the hill is the Myers Angel looking over everyone. Dr Brunot was General Lafayette's foster brother and General Lafayette's personal doctor. The Myers family made silver and gold chalices for the Cardinal and all his relatives which would include his brother Catholic Bishop William McCloskey of Louisville KY.
