There are books that a almost a biblical in there attachment to our society. I am here to see which one of these following books have a greater reverence within our society.

The first book is "Gone With the Wind" this romantic portray of the Civil War south is one of the great books of the 20th century. This book has a biblical hold over many in the south and in our nation.

The second book is "Atlas Shrugged" this romantic portray of individualism in the face of adversity is give the 20th century, Objectivism. This book in many corners of the business world is a biblical over many executives in those corner offices. The business world retreats to this book every time there is upheaval in the world of business.

The third book "To Kill a Mockingbird" its a drama about a white lawyer trying to save a black man from jail for a crime he did not do. It shows the injustice in the old Jim Crow south...

Which book has a greater biblical reverence within our society?

Which book is the greater work of literature?

Is there another book that we should consider along with the two books mention above?

Another book..."The Grapes of Wrath". The story of an Exodus, biblical in it's power and context.

I'm going to avoid the "biblical" rhetoric. To Kill A Mockingbird is probably the best regarded, and as literature, the best written. GWTW has faded a little, along with the Lost Cause generally. Honestly, Atlas Shrugged is pretty bad as literature, although its a guiding work for many.

I waiting for someone to mention George Orwell two books that changed the world in their day...

"Animal Farm" This is a quotation from George Orwell’s allegorical novel Animal Farm. In it the animals conspire to take control of their farm from humans, establishing ‘Animalist’ commandments to prevent the reproduction of the oppressive behavior of humans.
The quote that made the book... ‘All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others’

"1984"
The book that gave us Big Brother... The title, the adjectival form of the author’s last name, the vocabulary of the all-powerful Party that rules the superstate Oceania with the ideology of Ingsoc—doublethink, memory hole, unperson, thoughtcrime, Newspeak, Thought Police, Room 101, Big Brother—they’ve all entered the English language as instantly recognizable signs of a nightmare future. It’s almost impossible to talk about propaganda, surveillance, authoritarian politics, or perversions of truth without dropping a reference to 1984.
