Last weekend I watched an interesting video on Youtube. It was titled "Lincoln : the untold stories".
It was based on countless interviews that Lincoln's former law partner and friend William Herndon had conducted over 25 years with people who knew Lincoln from his earlier days. He had aimed to show Lincoln not as an almost godlike figure, the impeccable statesman, but as a private person.
Now these interviews are put together in a book by the title "Herndon's Informants".
Sure an interesting, abeit at times difficult read. Fot those of you interested in Lincoln, the book is still available:
