My name is Lawrence John Myers and my research is on the Myers and Lee families of Fort Myers in Lee County Florida with relatives in Charleston SC, Pittsburgh. Gettysburg. Lancaster, Boston, Richmond, Martinsburg, Winchester and Millwood VA. The Myers family were both Catholic and Jewish with ties to Carter Hall and Robert E Lee's mother Anne Carter. When Col John Esten Cooke died, he left his notes in the basement and they have been handed down to the family of his friend Hunter John Myers. Some of the Cookes were Mormon with close ties to Mormon Joseph Smith and his wife Lucy Pendelton and lived both in Nauvoo Ill and Salt Lake City. They were close friends with both CSA Generals JEB Stuart and Stonewall Jackson. After the Civil War, some relatives hung out with Frederick Dent Grant of Sarasota Florida. He was married in a Catholic Wedding to the Palmers of Palmer Ranch on Vamo Drive. The Heinz History Center says the Grants were originally from Pittsburgh and lived on Grant Street.
