April 10th, 1865, the a official news wire was received at all the major papers in the union form General Grant's Headquarters notifying that General Robert E. Lee, commander of the rebel armies along with other high ranking officers had been found guilty of treason by a military tribunal and executed in a field near Appomattox...General Grant sighting like in ancient Rome those who led rebellions against the Rome state would be brought before the Senate and executed..
General Meade quoted "We must make an examples of them so those in the future who want to bare arms against our nation will know only death will await them"
Grant quoted "To All other rebel armies in the field surrender and I will be merciful if not you see the price you will pay."
What if this had happen back in April of 1865?
What would have been the aftermath of such an event for our nation?
