President Abraham Lincoln, following the main speaker of the day, Edward Everett, delivers his famous, "Gettysburg Address," in dedication of the fallen at the battle, and of the Federal Cemetery, at Gettysburg, PA.

@diane look at this find...

Douglas W. Owsley and a team of forensic anthropologists at the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History completed an examination of the skull and determined, in summary:

·the remains are not those of an American Civil War soldier;

·the remains are those of an American Indian male, aged 22-25;

·the remains are likely dated to approximately 1269 –1299 AD;

·the remains are likely from the American Southwest;and

·the remains were not removed from the Josiah Benner farm at Gettysburg as claimed
.

I had wondered from the beginning if the skull was Native! For years and years it was claimed the Southwest people never contacted the Northeast people despite the fact that there were trade routes all over the place. Just look at a map of our old highway system - most of it is Indian trails! Now they need to return it to the tribes in the Southwest - they'll all consider him their ancestor and do what is appropriate.

Well for sure the Mayflower boat has headed to Jamestown Virginia but a storm pushed it to the Cape Cod area. I am a Mayflower member because the family of Edwin Doty moved to Boston PA just east of Pittsburgh after the hanging of Sarah Goode. This is very easy to trace if you are looking for it.

True indeed. I did say Doty family and the Mayflower society has them recorded. Even the ones living today.
