Here is what Moses Ezekiel's own family says about his statue:

Like most such monuments, this statue intended to rewrite history to justify the Confederacy and the subsequent racist Jim Crow laws. It glorifies the fight to own human beings, and, in its portrayal of African Americans, implies their collusion. As proud as our family may be of Moses’s artistic prowess, we — some twenty Ezekiels — say remove that statue. Take it out of its honored spot in Arlington National Cemetery and put it in a museum that makes clear its oppressive history.

Black Confederate Soldiers Arlington National Cemetery | Civil war monuments, Civil war history, American civil war
A clearly depicted integrated Army
This so-called integrated army was put there by a rebel veteran sculptor working for rebel women (UDC) who wanted to promulgate the myth of the loyal slave. Fictional sculptures of mammys and a black man with a soldier's cap do not bear witness to an actual integrated army and you know it.

That's a servant following his master to war. There's also a 'mammy' depicted on the statue. Here's a link to the fascinating story of this monument - well worth reading!

The article talks a good deal about the sectional separation, the segregation of the national cemetery for a long time, and some very excellent points about the very busy UDC. Miss Millie was one ball of fire!

My deer Sir an engraving NOT a carving worthy of discussion
Like the Ohio native said it was created by Moses Ezekiel. It shows an integrated Army not a segregated one like the Union had. But if it ain't worthy for you you don't have to comment on it.

Loyal slaves wasn't a myth if you looked you would you know it too, there are many accounts within this category. The creator of this was there we were not and things like this and other evidence left behind such as quotations from letters, speech, newspapers, reports. All this is wanted to be kept away because some folks view of the oh so kind and gracious Army of blue in "all cases" were out to help the slaves when in mamy cases those slaves were raped, robbed, and burned out. Many of them served to defend their homeland and families white and black.

Mildred Rutherford, General Lee. I bet you know the name, am I right? She and her sisters in the UDC were zealots for the Sir Walter Scott-izing of the Southern rebel! Almost single-handedly she transformed the image of the Confederacy into a Lost Cause narrative even Jubal Early would have blushed at. That's why we have all these controversial statues now. At any rate, the Loyal Slave was very central to this narrative.

I was saying that you said the creators name with details. The rest was my veiw if that's what you mean. I was in no way attempting to speak for you.

I understand that, we can only look back with a sense of discernment and honest reflection.

I don't believe you. They were all slaves who were there because their owners forced them to be there. Anything else is a lie designed to make the rebels look good. No slaves marched voluntarily with the rebels. None.

There are letters and such of even what the slaves or free men that fought for the CSA said. This here is from Ervin Jordan Jr's book Black Confederates and Afro yankees.
"After their capture one group of white Virginia slave owners and Afro-Virginians were asked if they would take the oath of allegiance to the United States in exchange for their freedom. One free negro indignantly replied: “I can’t take no such oaf as dat. I’m a secesh nigger.” A slave from this same group, upon learning that his master had refused, proudly exclaimed, “I can’t take no oath dat Massa won’t take.” A second slave agreed: “I ain’t going out here on no dishonorable terms.” On another occasion a captured Virginia planter took the oath, but slave remained faithful to the Confederacy and refused. This slave returned to Virginia by a flag of truce boat and expressed disgust at his owner’s disloyalty: “Massa had no principles.” Confederate prisoners of war paid tribute to the loyalty, ingenuity, and diligence of “kind-hearted” blacks who attended to their needs and considered them fellow Southerners."

Again with the unprovable letters. Hearsay in a letter is no evidence of anything. Anybody can write anything in a letter. Witness your quoting the forged letter with the quote from Lee in your signature.

Well then see what this slave had to say in letter he wrote, he could wrote because he was taught how and not regarded as trash many slaves were treated like family and freind. Had to screen shot this but the original is here too and it was in Black Confederates by Charles Kelly Barrow which stated at the bottom it was family owned and obviously donated or scanned at least.Screenshot_20201021-154507.pngScreenshot_20201021-154528.png
