As General JEB Stuart was all over the Gettysburg area looking for shoes, the Strauss family of J Robert Oppenheimer's friend AEC Head Lewis Strauss were making shoes in Richmond VA. The Jewish Strauss family came to Richmond in 1830 or so to make shoes. They belonged to the Jewish Community of Major William B Myers who's daughter Lila Myers married Henry Clay Frick's friend John Hill Morgan. Lewis Strauss financed the steel industry plus Eastmen Kodak on their production of Kodachrome used in the movie Gone With the Wind. My records at Kodak say Kodachrome was used in both the movies Gone With the Wind and OZ as there was a shortage of Technicolor Cameras to do both movies at the save time. From the records of the Stuart families of artist Gilbert Stuart and the Eastman families of George Washington Eastman in Rochester NY.
