Hitler began composing his tome while sitting in Landsberg prison, convicted of treason for his role in the infamous Beer Hall Putsch in which he and his minions attempted to stage a coup and grasp control of the government in Bavaria. It ended in disaster, with some allies deserting and others falling into the hands of the authorities. Hitler was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment (he would serve only nine months). His time in the old fortress at Landsberg was hardly brutal; he was allowed guests and gifts, and was treated as something of a cult hero. He decided to put his leisure time to good use and so began dictating Volume One of his opus magnus to Rudolph Hess, a loyal member of the German National Socialist Party and fellow revolutionary.

i did and you're talking nonsense. adolf dicdated it to different people
Snip... I guess the vol. 2 where he used many people to dictate too... what a wedding gift to get...

Volume Two of Mein Kampf, focusing on national socialism, was published in 1927. Sales of the complete work remained mediocre throughout the 1920s. It was not until 1933, the first year of Hitler’s tenure as chancellor of Germany, that sales soared to over 1 million. Its popularity reached the point where it became a ritual to give a newly married couple a copy

annexing reinstating the Frankenreich
Germany annexing all of France would basically make them the enemy of all of Europe. Not to mention the simmering resentment of most of the French. Prussia fighting short wars to unite Germans is one thing. When they try to add all of France suddenly everyone is wondering "Am I next?" British foreign policy immediately becomes "Germany is our arch enemy and we need every ally we can get, pronto." No naval arms race needed to piss off the Brits.

Bismarck had some pretty clear limited objectives, which he accomplished. His successors dropped the ball, mostly because Kaiser Wilhelm was an imbecile.

Here is a meeting between Hitler and the Grand Mufti in 1941... and 7 years ago the Israeli leader misrepresented the conversation between the Grand Mufti and Hitler...

This week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sparked a wave of backlash when he argued that the Holocaust was the brainchild of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, who, Netanyahu claimed, suggested killing the Jews (rather than merely expelling them) to Hitler during a 1941 visit to Berlin. As it happens, the full German record of the meeting between al-Husseini and Hitler, on Nov. 28, 1941, was published half a century ago, and is readily available online. It is a fascinating and important document. Not only does it make clear that Netanyahu’s accusation is false, but it also sheds light on the true origins of the Holocaust, and why Hitler undertook it when he did.
