Charles XII and Gen. Bobby Lee both won with smaller armies and under-resourced armies. If you look at their battle history both were risk takers and both had one great defeat that spelled the beginning of the end of their military achievements. If you compare, Charles XII accomplishments are truly greater than Gen. Bobby Lee's here. Compare battles some battles ... links...

Bobby Lee's great victories

Seven Days Battles
Second Battle of Bull Run (Second Manassas)
Battle of Chancellorsville

Charles XII great victories

Battle of Narva
Battle of Kliszow
Battle of Holowczyn(Charles XII favorite victory)

Each one's great loss...

Battle of Poltava(Charles XII)
Battle of Gettysburg(Lee's)

Charles XII fought versus coalitions of nations for 18 striaght years while Lee only fought for 4 straight years. In the end, both left behind their nation in ruin and in defeat. Charles had many more victories against larger forces than Lee but both found their ruination when they both decided to invade deep into their opponent's lands. The greatest difference is Charles XII fought most or all his battles in his opponent's backyard while Lee fought most of his in his own back yard. The last great difference is Charles XII would go into battle alongside his men. He was the last great "Warrior King"... I challenge you to compare battles and decide who was greater...
