Hi all. I have a new article on Black Resistance to white supremacy during the Civil War and Reconstruction. I see that Matt McKeon commented on it. Matt I wrote a response to the comments there.

I would agree that there are offensives against the black persons, and therefore a social failure, with the lost cause, ended reconstruction, the returning Confederate enthusiasm. I'd agree to that, some sort of enthusiasm that the Occupation forces were gone in 1870 Reconstruction was only one president, Ulysses Grant. There were unexplainable voting inequality. There were indiscriminate policing. Chain gangs and labor practices, KKK bosses at every black job. But that's with a notice toward the Confederate. How could we allow one Confederate Veteran to not vote? How unreasonable is it when an entire senate floor puts 'white supremacy' on the ballot. Supposedly, the rumor is, the Republicans staffed the entire floor with black persons in a numerical majority supremacy.

It never will have to have a causal relationship in the future. That's a lie from the White Federal Government. Why would blacks have to believe that? The Cleveland Show has Cleveland meet with a giant bear and a flag waving Confederate every episode. Nobody is that enthusiastic in politics anyway about ancient history.

More than that , in the article, it ended up syncing up with the 1st reply there... quoting Booker T Washington "“I felt that the Reconstruction policy, so far as it related to my race, was in a large measure on a false foundation, was artificial and forced. In many cases it seemed to me that the ignorance of my race was being used as a tool with which to help white men into office, and that there was an element in the North which wanted to punish the Southern white men by forcing the Negro into positions over the heads of the Southern whites. I felt that the Negro would be the one to suffer for this in the end.”

Now all I had heard of course was that they reclaimed a White Supremacy and I defended that meant a supremacy to reclaim majorities officially at the Senate house. I defended they wanted Confederate Veterans to vote. Booker there corroborated what I had heard or seen in this "echoses of Reconstruction".
