Pilgrims Captured by Muslim Pirates sent into Slavery... | Jgg's Civil War Talk, Debate, Learn and Discuss

I was reading this getting confused... Where's Puritan Pilgrims anyway? Are they on a slave ship?"Believe in Alabama" - Inaugural Address of Governor Bob Riley
"Four years ago, I stood before you as the Governor of Alabama on this very site where, under the watchful eye of this Capitol, our state story has been written. It was on these very streets where the Civil War was fought and the Civil Rights Movement was born. Where we have mourned our fallen, celebrated our traditions and seen the winds of change sweep an entire nation up in the struggle for equality. And it is here that governors before me and governors after me take a most sacred oath. A covenant between the people of Alabama and the one entrusted to lead them, protect them and promote them. To stand here in the presence of such history and such promise and accept the mantle of responsibility that has once again been granted to me is a humbling honor, and I thank you sincerely for it. "
"As I've said before, the morals and values that made this the greatest nation on earth - values that others may have forgotten - remain steadfast in the hearts of Alabamians. And nothing means more to me than when someone walks up to me, pulls me aside and says, "Governor, I'm praying for you." I always tell them, "Please don't stop" because I can feel those prayers. I thank you for your prayers and I humbly ask that you continue them. "

"
Proverbs 19:21 says "many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." In my first act as Governor, I asked God for His intervention, guidance and protection in the days ahead. Today, I ask Him for those once again: to continue the plans in our hearts, the innovation in our minds and the determination of our collective soul. But most importantly, I ask that this state serve whatever purpose God has designed for us all.

May God continue to bless America and this great state of Alabama.

George Wallace said in '63

"
This is the day of my Inauguration as Governor of the State of Alabama. And on this day I feel a deep obligation to renew my pledges, my covenants with you, the people of this great state.

Roy Moore famously had to have his 10 commandments taken away as a religious symbol of his Alabama Supreme Court preferring a religion.
. I'd like to also thank my good friend and the director of the Foundation for Moral Law in Birmingham, Dr. Mel Glenn, who's responsible and has been for the raising of attorney fees in my defense. Let's get it straight, it's about one thing, it's about the acknowledgment of the God upon which this nation and our laws are founded.

"One nation under God was their cry, indeed their declaration. Upon the laws of nature's God, they built a mighty nation. But unlike mankind before them who had walked this earthen sod, these men would never question the sovereignty of God. That all men were created was a truth self-evident, and to secure the rights that God gave us was the role of government. And should any form of government become destructive of this end, it was their right, indeed their duty, a new one to begin.

"So with a firm reliance on divine providence for protection, they pledged their sacred honor and they sought His wise direction. They lifted up an appeal to God for all the world to see, and vowed their independence forever to be free. But I'm glad they're not here with us to see the mess we're in, how we've given up our righteousness for a life of indulgent sin. For when abortion is no longer called murder, when sodomy is deemed a right, then good is now called evil and darkness is now called light.
the latest poll. But with man as his own master, we fail to count the cost, our precious freedoms vanish and our liberties are lost. Our children are told they can't pray in school and they teach them evolution. Why can't they see the fear of God is the only true solution.

"Our schools have become the battleground while all across the land, Christians just shrug their shoulders, afraid to take a stand. And from the grave you can hear their voices cry the victory's already been won. Just glorify the Father, as did His only Son. And when your work on this earth is done and when you've traveled where they trod, you'll leave the land that was left to you, one nation under God." [cheering, applause]

...

You see, "Today we face another war, fought not upon some distant shore, nor against a foe that you can see, but one as ruthless as can be. He'll take your life and your children too. He'll say there's nothing you can do. He'll make you think that wrong is right, 'tis but a sign to stand and fight. For when we face the wrath of Hell, against those gates we shall prevail. In homes and schools across our land, it's time for Christians to take a stand. [cheering, applause]

"And when your work on this earth is done, when the battle is over and the victory is won, when through all the earth His praise will ring and all the heavenly angels sing, 'twill be enough just to see the Son and hear Him say, 'My child, well done.' You kept my faith strong and true. I knew that I could count on you."

If we allowed for a Presbyterian Church in Alabama of any form like the Presbyterian Church of Scotland or the Presbyterian Church of Korea, and the obvious Presbyterian polity of the Puritan Pilgrim as established Church, then obviously Federal Government would allow much clearer social action in our moral lives. The Solemn League and Covenant defended Reformed Presbyterian (a subset type of Reformed in which the English Bishop interfered) , maintenance of it for the Scottish, English, and Irish, in which the English branch did not prevail and left for the United States and the Federal Government has held a Federal Vision of that religious experience since the Civil War.

There is no simpler model of Confederacy than Presbyterianism, so knew Jefferson Davis. Is that a reason to obscure? Just look around, Horace Underwood can be shouting out at himself from anywhere in the world, a populace of 1, making the Church of Korea, the Church of Alabama, the Church of Scotland, the Church of Nigeria, the Church of Wales or North Ireland, or India, or elsewhere. So you would never recognize you'd fight for a Virginian, is that what the point is, we should wonder?

How does Alabama governors relate to Pilgrims and Muslim save trade...? Roy Moore was wrong because its his job to obey and enforce the law and he chose to break his oath...

I did quote Governor George Wallace, and Governor Bob Riley, who note renewed Covenants and pledges between England and Scotland in the war I showed here. Roy Moore is very colorful in the speech in poem form about being able to practice free religion. Puritan Pilgrims and the much more populous Puritan in America, these groups are essentially the English variant of the Scottish Presbyterian. I sort of push if thats a person defined by a religion that moves for that religion, you know , and thats a proud story, they ought to move somewhere? Ask the Episcopal Church to leave?
