To be fair Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said " the US is a deadly adversary and fatal friend". The US abandoned it's allies in South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia plus the Iraqi Kurds in the 1970s,plus the South Africans in Angola. The Kennedy Administration backed FNLA terrorists in Angola against Portugal out NATO ally. The US abandoned the Iraqi people after Gulf War I. The Afgans should of known all this it's not a secret. The Afgans had twenty years and we can't hold their hands forever. My son is a US Marine so I don't want him over there. I can not wish other people's sons fight there.
Only one Moslem country sent troops to Afganhistan and that was Turkey and not many at that and Turkey has the second largest NATO army.

Per the Taliban yes per more progressive Afghans who want to leave Medieval Islamic rule we were the good guys. Unfortunately the US backed a corrupt regime as we did in South Vietnam and Cambodia. When the US backed the Philippines and Greece during their war against Communist guerrillas the US backed goverment's won. The US backed a brutal regime in El Salvador but the El Salvadoran Army could fight not always well and they offed lots of civilian's but at the end of the day they could fight the FMLN to a standstill.
The US sometimes picks a competent side and sometimes not do much.

in South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia
Lets rephrase your history... South Vietnam army was beaten on the field of battle and lost it will to fight its, kleptocratic's ... Laos we back one tribe that spent most of its time fighting other tribes... Cambodia again the government was beaten on the field of battle...

The US abandoned the Iraqi people after Gulf War I.
yes, in the 1990's... WE did abandon the Iraqi Shite's and Kurd's after telling them to revolt and then allowed Saddam to finish off the rebels...

FNLA terrorists in Angola against Portugal out NATO ally
Need to rephrase this many nations supported the FNLA and we supported them into the 1970's until Nigeria recognized MLPA... It was a civil war between three Liberation armies with the Portuguese in the middle... I had to look this one up... I remember the Cubans, South Africa and we backed UNITA into the 1980's...

The Afgans had twenty years
Yes, but we were the power that should have done things right and we didn't... The Taliban wanted to work with us after their defeat and we rejected them... The war became a cash cow for American contractors and Afghan elites...

In general Afghan men( not Taliban) do not think women need rights or education... its their culture... from 2019...

Afghan men strongly oppose giving women more freedom - two in three think they have too much already - and young men are even more reluctant than their elders, a survey said on Tuesday

Overall Job Approval down to 42%

Quinnipiac University’s poll shows that more than half of Americans support the decision to withdraw all U.S. troops from Afghanistan. However, voters give the president a negative 31%–65% score for the way he withdrew troops. Additionally, a majority — roughly 60% — believe that American troops will be required to return to the country to fight terrorist threats.

Biden approval down to 42% overall, lower on Afghanistan withdrawal, latest poll finds | KXAN Austin

"righteous strike."
@Tom , We(America) had committed many righteous drone strikes around the world in the last 10 years... The problem this time was the drone attack was done in a city covered in reporters so there were people follow up the strike.... I hope you do not think that is the first drone strike gone wrong for there have been hundreds...

I would bet we settled a lot of scores between Afghans with our drone and air strikes based a purposeful false information from our informants...

righteous strike
It's obvious this drone strike was meant to embarrass we(America) and Biden... It has done its job... Because you got reeled in by it... If it was this easy to con us(American military) into killing the wrong person think about all those other drone strikes over the past years... We were just hired murders...
