Or Forrest! He was a gambler and did the whole nine yards - silver buckles on the shoes, brocade vest, bay rum in the hair all nicely curled around his face. That was simply stylin' back then. At least two of his officers said he was the most beautiful man they'd ever seen. Nothing to be drawn from that at all. There was no question about Forrest's preferences anyway - he never missed a pretty face and always appreciated the ladies...especially when they ran out of their houses to see him and his troops in their nighties!

Yeah. Win Hancock was as famous for his perfect grooming and spotless white shirts as he was for cussing and being a badass general.

What possible historical difference would it make if Abe was a raving queen?
Little about the then and much about the now.

Depending on one's perspective, a gay/bi Lincoln is either trivia, a triumph for the LGBT community, or proof that the American Civil War was the original liberal assault on Southern manhood.

Knowing the internet, someone has written Lincoln/Booth slashfic where the assassination was revenge by a jilted lover and is desperate for proof.

1 Kings
1When King David was very old, he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him. 2So his attendants said to him, “Let us look for a young virgin to serve the king and take care of him. She can lie beside him so that our lord the king may keep warm.”
Got my answer ready for when my wife asks me what I want for Christmas. :)

Before we go any further with bed sharing; one thing for sure is you didn't share your bed with animal fodder -- hay that is -- in spite of the slang "hit the hay."

Hay is not dry enough or gently -scented enough to stuff into a mattress tick, and is not consistently even one kind of plant fiber.

When confined in a stuffed place hay begins to bio-process, meaning it begins to stink and heat up.

So it is of course STRAW that was used for mattress ticks, lasting much longer in a tick than hay ever would.

Even in a barn animals lay on straw and eat the hay.

And since sex has entered the conversation, the slang "a roll in the hay" isn't about sleeping.

Hay was stored in the upper mow or loft of a barn, where a couple could "grab a little privacy."
